We remembered Dave Mason, who died last week at 79, with a handful of songs including three from his 1970 “Alone Together” solo debut. We also noted the passing of sessioin guitarist Wayne Moss, Gregg Foreman of The Delta 72, eldest brother Alan Osmond and conductor Michael tilson Thomas.

Then it was time for birthdays, for Badfinger’s Pete Ham, The B-52’s Kate Pierson, head Ant Marco Pirroni , soul singer Ann Peebles, Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley, pop singers Isobel Campbell and Sheena Easton and Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev.

And there were some longer examples of work from guitarist Herb Pederson, turning 82 and drummer Jim Keltner, 52. Closed by marking the 50th anniversary of The Ramones’ debut album.
