From Courtney A. Kemp, who had created the “Power” series and its various offshoots, comes the new series “Nemesis” (Netflix, streaming) that pits a police detective (Matthew Law of “Abbott Elementary”) in a cat-and-mouse game with an expert criminal (Y’lan Noel of “Insecure”).  

“Welcome to Wrexham” (FXX, 9 p.m.) begins its fifth season in a new league with a largely new squad for its celebrity owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. 

From Japan comes a new series, “Soul Mate” (Netflix, streaming) that follows a ten-year relationship between a Japanese expat and a Korean boxer in a journey that takes them from Berlin,to  Seoul and Tokyo (and in a post-“Heated Rivalry” world, there’s some hockey involved as well). 

Sometimes, networks stay on the good side of big name actors by letting them take motorcycle trips and filming it. So Jason Samoa revs up his bike for a second season of “On the Roam” (HBO Max, streaming). 

“Law & Order” (NBC, 8 p.m.) ends its 25th season with a finale that concerns the murder of a military hero. A 27th season finale for “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” (NBC, 9 p.m.) which involves a technicality that threatens a kidnapping case. 

Contestants endure two full days of painful challenges on the two-week spin-off series “Fear Factor: House of Fear: 48 Hours of Fear” (Fox, 9 p.m.). Johnny Knoxville again presides over the pain. 

“Elsbeth” (CBS, 9 p.m.) squares off with a gossip columnist played by Tracey Ullman.

The pilot episode of the streaming Peacock revenge drama “M.I.A.” (NBC, 10 p.m.) gets a showcase on broadcast TV. 

“Next Level Chef” (CW, 8 p.m.) is down to the final four. 

A Hollywood producer scouts the inn as a filming location on “Ghosts” (CBS, 8:30 p.m.).

“Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage” (CBS, 8 p.m.) receives a financial windfall. 

Ike Barinholtz, Patton Oswalt and Mira Sorvino are on another semifinal on “Celebrity Jeopardy!” (ABC, 8 p.m.). 

“Jersey Shore Family Vacation” (MTV, 8 p.m.) includes a stop in Chicago, where Pauly and Vinny perform. 

A mother tries to give her hockey playing son an advantage in the made-for-TV “The Hockey Mom’s Revenge” (Lifetime Movie Network, 8 p.m. 

“Mysteries of Ancient Medicine” (National Geographic, 9 p.m.) includes Mayan healing rituals. 

After a breakdown, Niall learns Ruben has returned on “Half Man” (HBO, 9 p.m.). 

The second part of a Thursday night series on Turner Classic Movies of films with games prominent in them continues with backgammon in “The Mating Season” (8 p.m.), poker in “The Cincinnati Kid” (10 p.m.) and bingo in “Gumshoe” (midnight). 

During the day are the crime stories “The Phenix City Story” (7:30 a.m.), “While the City Sleeps” (9:15 a.m.), “We Who Are About to Die” (11 a.m.), “Badlands” (12:30 p.m.), “Blanche Fury” (2:15 p.m.), “Madeleine” (4 p.m.) and “Agatha” (6 p.m.).

Baseball includes Colorado at Pittsburgh (MLB, 12:30 p.m.), St. Louis at Athletics (MLB, 3:30 p.m.) and San Francisco at Dodgers (MLB, 10:10 p.m.).
