The 2026 FIFA World Cup begins in North America with its first games today. It’s Mexico vs. South Africa (Fox, 3 p.m.) and South Korea vs. Czechia (Fox Sports 1, 10 p.m.), both originating from Mexico. 

Elsewhere, the Stanley Cup final is up to Game 5 of Vegas at Carolina (ABC, 8 p.m.) with the series tied 2-2. 

From the makers of “Walking with Dinosaurs” comes more high tech recreation of nature 450 million years ago in the eight-episode series “Surviving Earth” (NBC, 8 p.m.).

JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Heather Headley and Brooke Elliott return as friends in the Southern town of Serenity, for the fifth season of “Sweet Magnolias” (Netflix, streaming). 

From Thailand comes the new legal drama “The Evil Lawyer” (Netflix, streaming) about a lawyer framed for the murder of the police chief’s son. 

A bullied teen turns his fights into online entertainment in the live-action Japanese series “Viral Hit” (Netflix, streaming), based on the web comic series “Ssawoomdokhak.” 

“Sugarcreek Amish Mysteries” (UPtv, 9 p.m.) ends its season with a missing deed. 

The Boston trip wraps up on “Jersey Shore Family Vacation” (MTV, 8 p.m.). 

“Secrets Declassified with David Duchovny” (History, 9 p.m.) looks at extreme methods to extract people from behind war zones. 

Ocean creatures are considered possible “Ancient Aliens” (History, 10 p.m.). 

“Mysteries of Ancient Medicine” (National Geographic, 9 p.m.) looks at the era of bloodletting as a cure. 

It’s hell week with three important matches in seven days including hosting Chelsea on “Welcome to Wrexham” (FXX, 9 p.m.).

Both parts of “Billy Joel: And So It Goes” (HBO, 6 p.m.) run consecutively, which is about five hours total. 

It’s Gen X night on Turner Classic Movies with “Do the Right Thing” (8 p.m.), “Reality Bites” (10:15 p.m.), “Slacker” (midnight), “River’s Edge” (1:45 a.m.), “Reckless” (3:30 a.m.) and “Oxford Blues” (5:15 a.m.).
