The Black Power movement in Montreal, circa 1969, is recalled in the documentary “True North: Canadian Myths and Black Power,”which covers the protests at Sir George Williams University, where students occupied a ninth-floor computer lab. Michele Stephenson’s film, which includes period footage and new interviews, makes its debut on “Independent Lens” (PBS, 10 p.m., check local listings). 

Another big day in the World Cup has Portugal vs. Spain (Fox, 3 p.m.) from Dallas vs. United States (Fox, 8 p.m.) from Seattle. Winners go to quarterfinals. 

“World War II with Tom Hanks” (History, 8 p.m.) covers the Normandy invasion and, at 9, the conflict in Japan. 

A winner is named on the season finale of “BBQ Brawl” (Food, 9 p.m.). 

“American Ninja Warrior” (NBC, 9 p.m.) continues qualifying rounds in Las Vegas.
