Sofia Coppola profiles her friend the fashion designer Marc Jacobs in the documentary “Marc by Sofia” (HBO, 8 p.m.), a stylish portrait making its premium cable debut. The psychological thriller “The Dutchman” (Showtime, 9 p.m.) with Andre Holland, Kate Mara and Zazie Beetz, also makes its cable premiere. 

France and England were military foes 41 times between 1109 and 1815. Today, they’ll be battling for third place in the World Cup consolation game. Miami hosts today’s match of France vs. England (Fox, 5 p.m.), with coverage starting hours earlier. Will there be consolation performers at halftime? (Incidentally France won 24 of those military conflicts, England 11, six were a tie – with no extra time added). Tomorrow’s the final. 

We cry “No Kings” but there’s still “Royal Fever: Why American Can’t Quit the Crown” (CNN, 8 p.m.). The documentary wonders about the continuing draw of the British throne to a nation that cast off its rule 250 years ago. 

The Christmas in July thing continues on Hallmark (which never has, say, a July in Christmas turnabout event). Tonight, Vanessa Lengies and Marcus Rosner star in “Snowbound for the Holidays” (Hallmark, 8 p.m.) about a woman who goes to help her family’s struggling lodge but then meets its co-owner. 

This thing may be catching on. Elsewhere, for example, there’s “Black Friday in July” (QVC2, 7 p.m.). 

Once the teen star in the network’s “Mom at Sixteen” movie 21 years ago, Danielle Penabaker returns playing a mom dealing with her own teen’s problems, including pregnancy and another big event approaching, giving new meaning to the made-for-TV movie’s title, “Crowning at the Prom” (Lifetime, 8 p.m.). 

Ladies gather to address their drama on “Heart & Hustle: Houston” (OWN, 8 p.m.).

“Ghost Adventures” (Travel, 9 p.m.) continues its investigation of Casper Mountain where, we imagine, only friendly ghosts reside. 

The bull shark is named one of the “World’s Most Iconic Animals” (Nat Geo Wild, 10 p.m.). 

“Swamp Thing” (MeTV, 8 p.m.) is presented by the House of Sven gang. 

Pamela Adlon picks a pair on Turner Classic Movies: “American Pop” (8 p.m.) and “Fame” (9:45 p.m.). The midnight noir is “Dark Passage” (12:15 a.m.), followed by “Ode to Billy Joe” (2:15 a.m.) and “Baby Doll” (4:15 a.m.). The midday musical is “The Unfinished Dance” (noon). 

Baseball includes Minnesota at Chicago (MLB, 2:15 p.m.), Texas at Atlanta (MLB, 5:30 a.m.) and Dodgers at Yankees (Fox, 8 p.m.), Minor league baseball has Amarillo at Springfield (MLB, 7:30 p.m.). 

WNBA action has New York at Indiana (CBS, 8 p.m.). 

Auto racing has the Faith Fest 250 (Fox Sports 1, 12:30 p.m.).

There is third round play in the British Open (USA, 5 a.m.; NBC, 7 a.m.). And if you stay up real late, the final round is at 4 a.m. Sunday on USA.

The Tour de France (Peacock, 6:30 a.m.) reaches its 14th stage. 

Canadian football has Montreal at Calgary (CBS Sports, 4 p.m.). 

Pro Lacrosse has Carolina vs. Denver (ABC, 2 p.m.).

Pro softball has Utah at Chicago (ESPN, 2 p.m.), Oklahoma City at Carolina (ESPN2, 4 p.m.) and Texas at Portland (CBS Sports, 10 p.m.).

Professional beach volleyball has Palm Beach vs. San Diego (CCW, 2 p.m.) and Austin vs. New York (CW, 3 p.m.). 

Rugby has New Zealand vs. England (CBS Sports, 10 a.m.) and France vs. South Africa (CBS Sports, 12:30 p.m.) in the junior world championships and Spain vs. United States (CBS Sports, 7:30 p.m.) in the world rugby nations cup. 

A celebration to the Austin blues club Antone’s, with Jimmie Vaughan, Kingfish, Bobby Rush and Sue Foley, among others, is on a rerun of “Austin City Limits” (PBS, 11 p.m., check local listings). 

The Matt Damon-hosted “Saturday Night Live” (NBC, 11:30 p.m.) from May with Noah Kahan is rerun.
