Baseball’s postseason begins with the best-of-five divisional series of White Sox at Cleveland (TBS, truTV, 1 p.m.) and Yankees at Tampa Bay (TBS, truTV, 6:30 p.m.) in the ALDS and Atlanta at Dodgers (Fox, 4 p.m.) and San Diego at Milwaukee (Fox Sports 1, 8:30 p.m.) in the NLDS. 

It is college football, nevertheless, that dominates primetime broadcast networks with Miami at Clemson (ABC, 7:30 p.m.), Texas Tech at Colorado (Fox, 7:30 p.m.) and Washington at USC (NBC, 7:30 p.m.). The day’s other games are listed below.

Otherwise, there is NASCAR’s Focused Health 302 (CW, 7:30 p.m.) and the lowly brawling of the UFC (CBS, 7:30 p.m.). 

A statue of an English knight somehow comes to life when a museum conservator kisses it in the made-for-TV romance “A Knight to Remember” (Hallmark, 8 p.m.), starring James Trevena and Julie Gonzalo. 

Siobhan Williams plays a woman drawn into a dangerous relationship with an older oral surgeon played by Luke Macfarlane in the made-for-TV thriller “A Doctor to Die For: The Sarah Harris Story” (Lifetime, 8 p.m.), based on a true story. 

“Africa Earth’s Wild Home” (Nat Geo Wild, 8 p.m.) looks at live on the high plains in the first of three new episodes running tonight. 

Dave Foley and Ashley Allison are panelists on a new “Have I Got News for You” (CNN, 9 p.m.) with Roy Wood Jr., Amber Ruffin and Michael Ian Black. 

“The Detour with David Chang” (CNN, 10 p.m.) heads to Sonoma. 

The Fletchers force a showdown on “Love and Marriage: Huntsville” (OWN, 8 p.m.). 

“Evil Dead Burn” (HBO, 8 p.m.), the sixth film in the franchise, that hit theaters in July, makes its premium cable debut, as does last year’s “Grizzly Night” (Showtime, 9 p.m.). 

Svengoolie presents “The Wizard of Oz” (MeTV, 7 p.m.) for the first time (on his program), followed by “The Invisible Man Returns” (MeTV, 9 p.m.). 

“Oppenheimer” (E!, 6, 10 p.m.) stretches out four hours with ads. 

John Turturro picks a pair on Turner Classic Movies tonight. His choices, from the 1940s, are “Out of the Past” (8 p.m.) and “The Set-Up” (10 p.m.). The 12 o’clock noir is “Loophole” (midnight), followed by two starring Robert Duvall, “The Great Santini” (1:45 a.m.) and “The Betsy” (3:45 a.m.). The midday musical is “Billy Rose’s Jumbo” (noon). 

Hockey’s season opening Saturday has Seattle at Edmonton (NHL, 7 p.m.). 

College football begins at noon with games that include Alabama at Mississippi State (ABC), Michigan at Minnesota (Fox), Navy at Airfare (CBS), Notre Dame at North Carolina (ESPN), UCF at Houston (ESPN2), Boston College at SMU (CW), Middle Tennessee at Kansas (ESPNU), West Virginia at Iowa State (TNT) and Syracuse at UConn (CBS Sports).

Games at 3:30 p.m. include Ohio State at Iowa State (CBS), Florida at Missouri (ABC), Auburn at Tennessee (ESPN), California at UNLV (CBS Sports), Virginia at Florida State (ESPN2) and Wyoming at North Dakota State (CW).

Sienna Spiro plays a new “Austin City Limits” (PBS, 11 p.m., check local listings). 

Dakota Johnson hosts the second new “Saturday Night Live” (NBC, 11:30 p.m.) of the season, with musical guests Turnstile.
