“NCIS: New York” (CBS, 9 p.m.), the seventh spinoff of the franchise, makes its premiere in the Big Apple. But it has some familiar faces: L.L. Cool J, who was on “NCIS: Los Angeles,” and Scott Caan. It fits snugly between “NCIS” (CBS, 8 p.m.), starting its 24th season with a visit from Michael Weatherly’s Tony DiNozzo, and the prequel “NCIS: Origins” (CBS, 10 p.m.) which starts its third season with a guest spot from Mark Harmon, in retirement. 

“American Masters” (PBS, 9 p.m., check local listings) profiles Luis Valdez, of “Zoot Suit” and “La Bamba” fame. Interviewees include Lou Diamond Phillips, Cheech Marin and Linda Ronstadt are among the interviewees; Edward James Olmos narrates. 

From Japan comes the new reality dating series “Love Village” (Netflix, streaming), in which singles aged 35 to 60 are located to a suburban house to find longtime partners. 

Time for the town floating crate race on “Best Medicine” (Fox, 8 p.m.). 

“Doc” (Fox, 9 p.m.) and Jake are paired on a case 

The secrets of islands are explored on “The UnXplained” (History, 9 p.m.). 

“R.J. Decker” (ABC, 10 p.m.) looks into a murder at a fishing tournament. 

Avoiding tariffs is the job of the “Moonshiners” (Discovery, 8 p.m.). 

“The Voice” (NBC, 8 p.m.) continues blind auditions. 

It’s Mariah Carey night on “Dancing With the Stars” (ABC, 8 p.m.), where the latest to be eliminated have been Hanson member Taylor Hanson and chef Giada De Laurentiis. 

There are efforts to end Lamar’s music dreams on “The Drop: A Snowfall Saga” (FX, 9 p.m.). 

“Vampiric: Teenage Vampire” (Disney, 8 p.m.) returns for its second season. 

Four Alaskan women are followed in the new series “Surviving Alaska: Women of the Wild” (National Geographic, 9 p.m.). 

Turner Classic Movies host Alicia Malone has a new book, “Murder at the Movies,” so she playes some films tonight that might fit that theme: “And Then There Were None” (8 p.m.), “Murder, She Said” (9:45 p.m.), “The Kennel Murder Case” (11:30 p.m.), “Suspicion” (1 a.m.), “The Case of the Curious Bride” (2:45 a.m.) and “The Case of the Howling Dog” (4:15 a.m.), 

During the day, TCM notes German-American Day with “A Midsummer Night Dream” (10 a.m.), “Hitler’s Madman” (12:30 p.m.), “Escape from East Berlin” (2 p.m.), “Friendly Persuasion” (3:30 p.m.) and “Fury” (6 p.m.). 

Baseball’s National League Divisional Series has Dodgers at Atlanta (Fox Sports 1, 6 p.m.) and Milwaukee at San Diego (Fox Sports 1, 9:30 p.m.). 

Hockey includes Islanders vs. Rangers (ESPN, 7:30 p.m.) and Florida at Los Angeles (ESPN, 10 p.m.). 

Preseason basketball has Minnesota vs. Indiana (NBA, 7 p.m.) and Golden State at Portland (NBA, 10 p.m.).
