A third NCIS in a new locale and Thursday night NFL dominate the 2014-15 schedule for CBS, unveiled Wednesay at the network upfronts.
Eight new series were announced for the season, including five for the fall – one comedy and four dramas. In addition some returning shows change time slots, with “The Amazing Race” going to Fridays,” “CSI” moving to Sundays and “NCIS: L.A.” moving to Mondays.
The new dramas are:
- “Scorpion” features a team who fight cyber threats for Homeland Sceurity, with Elyes Gabel, Robert Patrick and Katharine McPhee. Mondays
- “NCIS: New Orleans” has Scott Bacula heading up the unit, with Lucas Black, Zoe McLellan and CCH Pounder. Tuesdays, following the original “NCIS”
- “Stalker” features Maggie Q and Dylan McDermott as detectives who investigate stalking cases for the L.A. police. Wednesdays
- “Madam Secretary” stars Tea Leoni as the U.S. Secretary of State, from the maker of “Judging Amy.” It also stars Bebe Neuwirth and Tim Daly, and is a lead-in for “The Good Wife” on Sundays.
- “Battle Creek” another cop show starring Josh Duhamel and Dean Winters, might stand out because it is from Vince Gilligan of “Breaking Bad” fame. Midseason.
- “CSI: Cyber” a spinoff of the original starring Patricia Arquette as a cyber-psychologist. Midseason.
The new comedies:
- “The McCarthys” about a sports-crazy family in Boston, with Tyler Ritter, Laurie Metcalf and Jack McGee. Thursdays.
- “The Odd Couple” this time with Matthew Perry (“Friends”) as the slob and Thomas Lennon as the neat freak.
Returning shows for CBS are” “NCIS,” “NCIS: L.A.,” “Person of Interest,” “Criminal inds,” “Elementary,” “CSI,” “Hawaii Five-0,” Blue Bloods,” “The Good Wife,” “2 Broke Girls,” “Mom,” “Two and a Half Men,” “The Amazing Race,” “Survivor,” “60 Minutes,” “48 Hours,” “Mike & Molly,” “The Mentalist” and “Undercover Boss.”
Not returning to the CBS schedule: “We Are Men” “Friends with Better Lives,” “The Crazy Ones.” “Intelligence,” “Hostages,” “Bad Teacher” and “How I Met Your Mother.”
