Just three new dramas and one comedy are on the fall schedule for The CW, which will switch nights for some of its returning shows and brings a second superhero to its schedule

The new dramas announced Thursday are:

  • “The Flash” stars Grant Gustin in the costume, with Danielle Panabaker and Jesse L. Martin in the cast of the show that comes from the team of the returning “Arrow.” Tuesdays.
  •  “iZombie” Rose McIver stars as a medical resident who is bitten at a party and becomes a zombie, which she tries to hide as much as possible, eventually finding a role in solving crimes. Nora Dunn is in the cast of the comic book adaptation produced in part by Rob Thomas. Midseason.
  • “The Messengers” Four people fall to earth and learn that they may be the four horsemen of the apocalypse. From the makers of “Revolution” and “Teen Wolf.” Midseason.

The new comedy is

  • “Jane the Virgin” starring Gina Rodriguez as a young woman in Miami who vows to save herself until marriage, only to find that she’s been accidentally artificially inseminated with the specimen of a reformed playboy. The hour-long telenovela adaptation comes in part from Ben Silverman. Mondays.

Returning shows are “The Originals” (moving to Mondays), “Supernatural,” “Arrow,” “The 100,” “The Vampire Diaries,” “Reign,” “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” “America’s Next Top Model.”

Not returning to the schedule are “Breaking Point,” “The Carrie Diaries” “Star-Crossed” and “The Tomorrow People.”
