He’s done so much for so long to set the tone for late night television, it’s hard to believe they’ll let him go after a 33 year career with only the 90 minute clip compilation ‘“David Letterman: A Life on Television” (CBS, 9:30 p.m.). There are so many good — and comedically influential — moments to relive, you could pack a show from just the past few weeks, when the biggest stars have been showing up to do nothing more than pay respects and say thanks.
What caliber of stars? Well tonight, President Obama makes his final visit to “The Late Show with David Letterman” (CBS, 11:35 p.m.), alongside Will Ferrell (who famously portrayed the last president, George W. Bush.). Here’s hoping the special will convey just the kind of crazy spirit he’s brought to the realm, one that involves much more than Drew Barrymore lifting her shirt.
“Gotham” (Fox, 8 p.m.) ends its solid first season with villains you don’t know fighting ones you do.

Two hours of “Dancing with the Stars” (ABC, 8 p.m.), which has an “America’s Choice” theme, is on opposite two hours of ’The Voice” (NBC, 8 p.m.), where they are down to the top six.
Dan Savage is guest of Neil DeGrasse Tyson on “StarTalk” (National Geographic, 11 p.m.).
Reza settles on a destination wedding in Thailand on on “Shahs of Sunset” (Bravo, 9 p.m.). One way tickets please!
“Jane the Virgin” (The CW, 9 p.m.) goes to her high school reunion.
Movies about death row are on Turner Classic Movies with “I Want to Live!” (8 p.m.), “The Hoodlum Priest” (10:15 p.m.), “Beyond a Reasonable Doubt” (12:15 a.m.), “Nora Prentiss” (1:45 a.m.) and “The Ceremony” (3:45 a.m.).
NBA playoffs include Chicago at Cleveland (TNT, 7 p.m.) and Clippers at Houston (TNT, 9:30 p.m.).
