MQ meets McG for the new action series for The CW next month, “Nikita”
It’s Maggie Q, the action star from Hong Kong who stars. McG, of “Charlie’s Angels” and a few shortlived TV series, mostly recently “Dollhouse,” is one of the producers.
Did she change her name to Maggie Q to work with McG?
“Because McG is my idol,” she joked. Then she answered she changed the name from Quigley. “They couldn’t pronounce it in Asia, and that’s all that happened. So they shortened it.”
“The irony, of course, is we’re both Irish, McGinty and Quigley,” said the director. “McG is short for McGinty, but I’ve been taking [crap] for it for years — ten TCAs!”
“Nikita” starts Sept. 9 on The CW.
