Let’s talk about the Holiday traditions that aren’t around this year. The “Christmas in Washington” concert for one; but also the traditions of “Late Show” where David Letterman would throw a football at the meatball atop the tree, Paul Shaffer would imitate Cher and Darlene Love would sing “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).” Not tonight. “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” (CBS, 11:35 p.m. has Leon Bridges and Mandy Patinkin. And Darlene Love is on “The View” (ABC, 11 a.m.).
The newest animated online fare is “F is for Family” (Netflix, streaming) about growing up in the 70s, from comic Bill Burr. It also includes the voices of Laura Dern and Justin Long and is so far not quite the level of “Bojack Horseman.” Mostly it’s about his dad who yells a lot and because it’s streaming, curses too. It all kind of makes you miss “King of the Hill” all the more.
Also online is a new standup comedy special, “Mike Epps: Don’t Take It Personal” (Netflix, streaming) from Los Angeles.
“The Knick” (Cinemax, 10 p.m.) has its season finale.
Christina Aguilera, Sutton Foster, Chris Botti, Sting, Fantasia, Bernadette Peters, Billy Porter, Kyle Dean Massey and, sadly, Seth MacFarlane all perform in celebrating Frank Sinatra’s 100th birthday on “Live from Lincoln Center” (PBS, 9 p.m., check local listings), which But isn’t really live; it was taped Dec. 3.
Ethan Hawke, Asa Butterfield and Hailee Steinfeld star in “Ten Thousand Saints” (Starz, 9 p.m.), making its premiere on premium cable.
If you missed it before, “The 2015 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show” (POP, 9 p.m.) is rerun.
The Christmas array on Turner Classic Movies tonight includes “I’ll Be Seeing You” (8 p.m.), “Christmas in Connecticut” (9:30 p.m.), “Remember the Night” (11:30 p.m.), “Holiday Affair” (1:15 a.m.), “Bundle of Joy” (3 a.m.) and “Love Finds Andy Hardy” (4:45 a.m.).
Other holiday movies have “The Santa Clause” (ABC Family, 7:30 p.m.), skipping directly to “Santa Clause 3” (ABC Family, 9:45 p.m.). You can watch the 1999 “A Christmas Carol” (TNT, 8 and 10 p.m.) with Patrick Stewart or the 1984 version of “A Christmas Carol” (AMC, 9:15 p.m.) with George C. Scott. And there is also: “Miracle on 34th Street” (AMC, 7 p.m.), “Family for Christmas” (Hallmark, 8 p.m.), “A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas” (MTV, 8 p.m.) and “Just in Time for Christmas” (Hallmark, 10 p.m.).
NBA action includes Clippers at San Antonio (ESPN, 8 p.m.) and New Orleans at Phoenix (ESPN, 10:30 p.m.).
College football has Mount Union, Ohio vs. St. Thomas, Minn. (ESPNU, 7 p.m.) and Richmond at North Dakota State (ESPN2, 8 p.m.).
In men’s college basketball, it’s Incarnate Word at St. John’s (Fox Sports 1, 7 p.m.).
