The total comic book takeover of entertainment continues on television with the two hour second season premiere of “Marvel’s Agent Carter” (ABC, 9 p.m.) in which she travels from New York to Los Angeles for an assignment. It’s accompanied by the overview “Marvel’s Captain America: 75 Heroic Years” (ABC, 8 p.m.) to tie into an impending movie release “Captain America: Civil War.” There are no superheroes, though, as “Modern Marvels” (History 2, 8 p.m.) which offers three consecutive episodes covering cheese, fast food and snacks.
But the other major superhero comic chain is also well represented tonight, with a new episode of “The Flash” (The CW, 8 p.m.) leading into the new “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” (The CW, 9 p.m.) and “DC Films Presents: Dawn of the Justice League” (The CW, 9:30 p.m.).
She’s been so fearsome on “The Biggest Loser” for so many seasons, is anyone interested in Jillian Michaels’ private life (or the one she chooses to show) on the new “Just Jillian” (E!, 10 p.m.).
Also new in this realm is “Fit to Fat to Fit” (A&E, 10 p.m.) about 10 trainers who gain weight to they can sympathize with people who are trying to lose it. Which sounds a little extreme.
Extreme training is behind the whole “American Ninja Warrior” thing, whose competitors band together to face one another in teams on the new “Team Ninja Warrior” (Esquire, 8 p.m.).
Off on their own unusual quest are “The Prancing Elites Project” (Oxygen, 8 p.m.), the Mobile, Ala., troupe of black, gay dance team.
Jake and the Captain both get the mumps on “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (Fox, 9 p.m.).
The less glamorous real truth of the bank robbers is told in “American Experience: Bonnie & Clyde” (PBS, 9 p.m., check local listings).
A new “Finding Your Roots” (PBS, 10 p.m., check local listings) looks into the past of Shonda Rhimes, Maya Rudolph and Keenan Ivory Wayans.
“NCIS” (CBS, 8 p.m.) fights a human trafficking ring.
Robert Osborne picks the movies tonight on Turner Classic Movies. His choices: “Springtime in the Rockies” (8 p.m.), “Penny Serenade” (9:45 p.m.), “Sombrero” (midnight), “Teresa” (2 a.m.) and “The Devil Makes Three” (4 a.m.).
