In summary, in case you haven’t been paying attention, here’s what I like for the fall season on broadcast networks.
- “New Girl” (Fox, Tuesdays, 9 p.m.). Zoe Deschanel sparkles in the new comedy.
- “Up All Night” (NBC, Wednesdays, 8 p.m.). Strong cast and fresh writing update the young family genre.
- “2 Broke Girls” (CBS, Mondays, 8:30 p.m.). One of two Whitney Cummings sitcoms, this one is about a couple of working girls who room together as well.
- “The X Factor” (Fox, Wednesdays, 8 p.m.) is Simon Cowell’s “American Idol” variation, where Paula Abdul sits next to him, there are still auditions and there is a bigger than usual cash prize at the end: $5 million.
- [Uh, I could only find four. And my enthusiasm for “X Factor” is flagging as it goes on].
