Awards season heats up with two major events tonight in two countries.

The 27th Annual Critics Choice Awards (CW, TBS, 7 p.m.) seeks to raise its profile in the absence of the Golden Globes. Take Diggs and Nicole Byer host the event from Los Angeles, honoring movies and TV from voters that include yours truly. “West Side Story” and “Belfast” top film nominees with 11 each; “Succession” leads in TV with eight nominations.

In England the 75th EE British Academy Film Awards (Britbox, 3 p.m.), formerly known as the Bafta Awards, streams live from the Royal Albert Hall for the first time in the U.S.. Rebel Wilson hosts. And the most nominated film is “Dune” with 11 nods. 

A new sports commentary show “Game Theory with Bomani Jones” (HBO, 11:30 p.m.) comes right after “Last Week Tonight with Jon Oliver” (HBO, 11 p.m.).

Jane Lynch returns to host the second season of the revived prime time “Weakest Link” (NBC, 9 p.m.). 

“The Presence of Love” (Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, 9 p.m.) Eloise Mumford plays a professor of romantic literature who goes to England to discover her roots. 

Rebecca Dalton plays a woman left at the altar, but takes the trip anyway on the made-for-TV “A Honeymoon to Remember” (UPtv, 7 p.m.). 

From the UK comes “Help! My House is Haunted: Celebrity Edition” (Discovery+, streaming) in which the “celebs” are UK reality stars nobody knows over here.
