Saw Santana the other day, so played a few of their classics. Remembered a bit of the work of Bobby Rydell, who died last week at 79.
But mostly played a lot of songs regarding Easter, from Patti Smith Group to Jefferson Airplane and a couple of takes from Bob Dylan, who tends to have a couple of takes on everything. Also songs that seemed to have things to do with Easter season but really didn’t, from Mott the Hoople to Bruce Springsteen.
Amassed 21 songs that had whistling in them, either prominently or just briefly, from artists ranging from Otis Redding to The Jam to Gene Pitney. And just about the only excuse to play Scorpions, Guns N’ Roses and Pat Benatar.
