Good timing for a new special on “Nova” (PBS, 9 p.m. check local listings) that will celebrate the James Webb Space Space Telescope that produced those amazing pictures of hundreds of distant galaxies with a focus so deep it went back in time. (Maybe they will explain all that).

Sharks are interesting and all, but corporate synergy may be the point of “Shark Beach with Chris Hemsworth” (ABC, 8 p.m.), a special that’s already been on National Geographic’s SharkFest, but is now making its way to ABC, which is also owned by Disney. All the while, SharkFest swims on (because otherwise it would die!) with a couple new specials,  “Shark Queens” (National Geographic, 9 p.m.), looking at the female of the species; and “Baby Sharks” (National Geographic, 10 p.m.), of which they’ll do their best not to play the children’s song.

Among other scientists on TV tonight, well, there’s the eighth season premiere of “Dr. Pimple Popper” (TLC, 9 p.m.). You would think she’s popped all the pimples by now.

You might look at the listings tonight and think “Everything’s Trash” (Freeform, 10 p.m.) but that’s the name of a new comedy from Phoebe Robinson, the comedian and podcaster, who will riff about life in Brooklyn.

While things are getting out of control on “The Bachelorette,” where 32 guys showed up ready for a date this week, there’s a more reasonable ratio that’s the premise of “5 Guys a Week” (Lifetime, 10 p.m.) in which a woman invites a handful of guys to move in with her for a week before she decides among them.

President Biden leaves today for a Middle East trip that will take him to Saudi Arabia, but beating him there, to seek a volcanic underworld lava tube, is “Expedition with Steve Backshall” (PBS, 10 p.m., check local listings).
