Capping a week when a pair of (different) White House portraits were unveiled, a new special “Picturing the Obamas” (Smithsonian, 8 p.m.) looks at the impact of the National Portrait Gallery portraits of Barack and Michelle Obama by Kehinde Wiley and Amy Sherald that were hugely popular in Washington D.C., before they traveled to museums in Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Houston and Brooklyn to similar success. Highlights of the 2022 Creative Arts Emmy Awards (FXX, 9 p.m.), held over two nights last weekend, will be shown, providing a precursor for Monday’s main event, the 74th Emmy Awards. So far, three top nominated shows each get a boost in the Creative Arts Award, “Euphoria,” “The White Lotus” and Stranger Things.” Look for wins from such big names as Adele, the Beatles (for “Get Back”) and Barack Obama.
