Documentary filmmaker Alexandra Pelosi is in the position to provide the most intimate look at her historic subject, the first female Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, who happens to be her mother. “Pelosi in the House” (HBO, 9 p.m.), shot over the three decades provides a long look at her career starting with her election to Congress in 1987 and includes some of the footage of her scrambling to get help as the Jan. 6 insurrectionists were closing in. Still, the subject remains so relentlessly on-message her daughter can’t easily break in.

Less consequential due to its subject matter will be the documentary on the pro wrestling kingpin “The Nine Lives of Vince McMahon” (Vice, 9 p.m.).

A billiard queen is profiled in the new documentary “Jeanette Lee Vs.” (ESPN, 8 p.m.).

A fourth documentary, “In a Different Key” (PBS, 9 p.m., check local listings) follows a mother who finds the first person diagnosed with autism, an elderly man in rural Mississippi.

Mallori Johnson stars in an eight-part adaptation of Octavia E. Butler’s 1979 novel “Kindred” (Hulu, streaming) about a writer who jumps time to a 19th century plantation. 

The first of the World Cup semifinals occurs today with Argentina vs. Croatia (Fox, 2 p.m.).
