The accurately anxiety-producing “The Bear” (Hulu, streaming) about the chaos behind a Chicago restaurant returns for a second season, as they begin plans on remodeling the eatery for reopening. Abby Elliott’s role seems to have increased this time out, as a supportive sister, and the main cast of Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri and Ebon Moss-Bachrach all return. And there are are a couple of moments that will remind you, besides being a half hour, that it’s supposed to be a comedy.
Also back for a second season is the “Sex and the City” sequel “And Just Like That…” (Max, streaming), in which Kim Cattrall will eventually join the rest of the returning cast, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis.
For now, though, Kim Cattrell stars in the new series “Glamorous” (Netflix, streaming) about an aspiring influencer who lands a job at her makeup empire. Miss Benny stars.
Kong eventually makes himself known in the new animated series “Skull Island” (Netflix, streaming), but there are a bunch of other creatures, too. The voice cast includes Mae Whitman, Benjamin Bratt, Betty Gilpin, Nicolas Canfu and Darren Barnet.
Robert Downey Jr. rebuilds cars and tries to make them more energy efficient as well in his new gearhead series “Downey’s Dream Cars” (Max, streaming).
From Japan comes the new comedy “Let’s Get Divorced” (Netflix, streaming), about a politician and his actress wife who decide to split but learn it’s bad for their careers.
In the Irish suspense thriller “Clean Sweep” (Sundance Now, AMC+, streaming) a mother goes to extremes to keep some buried truth from coming out.
