College football begins its annual onslaught, with primetime network offerings of LSU at Clemson (ABC, 7:30 p.m.) and New Mexico at Michigan (NBC, 7:30 p.m.). The rest of the long list is below.

“Catch of the Day” (Hallmark, 8 p.m.) is the title of a made for TV romance about a chef meeting an old flame when she goes back to help her family’s restaurant. Emile Ullerup and Michael Rady star.

Jonathan Stoddard and Emily Atalo star in a new series “Crossroad Springs” (Great American Family, 8 p.m.) about a ranch family and their ordeals. 

“Trafficked with Mariana Van Zeller” (National Geographic, 9 p.m.) looks at the world of fraudulent addiction treatment programs. 

A DNA project is used to identify a victim on “Naming the Dead” (National Geographic, 10 p.m.).

“The Stepdaughter” (Lifetime, 8 p.m.) is a made-for-TV thriller about a high schooler who moves in with her dad and his new family, only to consider murder.

“Planet Earth: Asia” (BBC America, 8:23 p.m.) looks behind the scenes in shooting the series. 

Recent crises bring a news report, “The United States vs. Iran: A Fareed Zakaria Special” (CNN, 10 p.m.). 

“Destinations of the Damned with Zak Bagans” (Travel, 10 p.m.) sounds like a terrible travel show. 

The 2024 film about a woman and her Great Dane, “The Friend” (Showtime, 8 p.m.) with Naomi Watts, Bill Murray and Carla Gugino, makes its premium cable debut. 

“Terror in Trigonometry” (Investigation Discovery, 10 p.m.) is about a 1994 school shooting. 

Svengoolie presents the 1977 horror anthology “Dead of Night” (MeTV, 8 p.m.). 

The penultimate night of Turner Classic Movies’ Summer Under the Stars features Kirk Douglas all day in “Out of the Past” (6 a.m.), “The Story of Three Loves” (7:45 a.m.), “Top Secret Affair” (10 a.m.), “Seven Days in May” (11:45 a.m.), “Paths of Glory” (2 p.m.), “Lust for Life” (3:45 p.m.), “Champion” (6 p.m.), “Detective Story” (8 p.m.), “Ace in the Hole” (10 p.m.), “The Heroes of Telemark” (midnight), “Two Weeks in Another Town” (2:30 a.m.) and “The Big Trees” (4:30 a.m.).

Baseball includes Miami at Mets (MLB, 4 p.m.), Seattle at Cleveland (Fox, 7:15 p.m.) and Texas at Athletics (MLB, 10 p.m.). 

College football begins at noon with Texas at Ohio State (Fox), Syracuse at Tennessee (ABC), Mississippi State at Southern Miss (ESPN), Northwestern at Tulane (noon) and VMI at Navy (CBS Sports).

After Old Dominion at Indiana (Fox Sports 1, 2:30 p.m.), games at 3:30 include Alabama at Florida State (ABC), South Dakota at Iowa State (Fox) and Marshall at Georgia (ESPN). 

Then comes University of Albany at Iowa (Fox Sports 1, 6 p.m.), UTSA at Texas A&M (ESPN, 7 p.m.), UTEP at Utah State (CBS Sports, 7:30 p.m.), Georgia Southern at Fresno State (Fox Sports 1, 9:30 p.m.), Idaho at Washington State (CW, 10 p.m.), California at Oregon State (ESPN, 10:30 p.m.), Hawaii at Arizona (TNT, truTV, 10:30 p.m.) and Utah at UCLA (Fox, 11 p.m.).

Noah Kahan plays a replay of “Austin City Limits” (PBS, 11 p.m., check local listings) with the mariachi act Flor de Toloache. 

The Scarlett Johansson-hosted “Saturday Night Live” (NBC, 11:30 p.m.) season finale with Bad Bunny from May is rerun.
