It’s good to see Jon Bernthal and Tessa Thompson in a new drama. In “His & Hers” (Netflix, streaming), she’s a former Atlanta anchor who wants to get back in the biz by reporting on a murder in her home town. He plays a detective who thinks she may know too much about the case. Based on a novel by Alice Feeney, it has some weird turns and has the feel of a wanna-be HBO drama. Also in the cast: Pablo Schreiber and Poppy Liu. 

A second season (and second full day of overwork) comes for “The Pitt” (HBO Max, 9 p.m.), which became a sleeper hit and award winner for a series. This time, the day is also July 4, so expect some fireworks injuries. Noah Wyle returns to the “E.R.” revival mixed with a “24” pace. Episodes will take on a network restraint, though — premiering at a given hour, with new shows running week by week.

That’s also the case for season four of “The Traitors” (Peacock, 9 p.m.) whose participants includes former cast members of “Survivor,” “RuPaul’s Drag Race” and “Dancing With the Stars.” Among others. The ever=flamboyant Alan Cummings returns to host. 

In the new limited series “Girl Taken” (Paramount+, streaming), Tallulah Evans and her real sister Delphi play twins, one of whom is kidnapped by a respected teacher (Alfie Allen). It’s based on the novel “Baby Doll” by Hollie Overton. 

It’s Miami vs. Ole Miss (ESPN, 7:30 p.m.) in a College Football Playoff semifinal in the Fiesta Bowl from Glendale, Ariz. 

“The Hunting Party” (NBC, 10 p.m.), starring Melissa Roxburgh — and her eyebrows! — as a former FBI profiler going after the most extreme murderers, returns fr its second season. 

Sarah Jessica Parker and Helen Mirren win special awards in an hourlong Golden Globes prelude, “Golden Eve” (CBS, 8 p.m.). 

“The Tale of Silyan” (National Geographic, 9 p.m.) is a documentary about the friendship between a farmer and a white stork that intertwines with North Macedonian folklore. 

A spinoff of “The Valley” with a “Shahs of Sunset” twist in the new reality series “The Valley: Persian Style” (Bravo, 9 p.m.).

“Love is Blind: Germany” (Netflix, semifinal) wonders whether people can fall in love only through hearing a Teutonic accent. 

Hen’s health has impact on her work on “9-1-1” (ABC, 8 p.m.).

“9-1-1: Nashville” (ABC, 9 p.m.) returns with the city under siege. 

There’s a murder investigation on “Law & Order” (NBC, 8 p.m.); another murder investigation on “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” (NBC, 9 p.m.).

On “Grey’s Anatomy” (ABC, 10 p.m.), Winston and Ben fight to save Jo’s life. 

A pair of episodes tightens the field on “Hell’s Kitchen” (Fox, 8 p.m.). 

One of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” (Bravo, 8 p.m.) plans a trip to Sedona. 

Turner Classic Movies’ month-long Thursday night salute to Jean Arthur continues with “Easy Living” (8 p.m.), “History is Made at Night” (9:45 p.m.), “The Whole Town’s Talking” (11:45 p.m.), “Too Many Husbands” (1:30 a.m.) and “Public Hero No. 1” (3 a.m.). 

During the day are films with Eva and Zsa Zsa Gabor with “Youngblood Hawke” (6 a.m.), “The Last Time I Saw Paris” (8:30 a.m.), “Don’t Go Near the Water” (10:30 a.m.), “It Started With a Kiss” (12:30 p.m.), “Lili” (2:30 p.m.), “Queen of Outer Space” (4 p.m.) and “Moulin Rouge” (5:45 p.m.). 

Basketball has Miami at Chicago (NBA, 8 p.m.). 

Hockey has Islanders at Nashville (Hulu, 8 p.m.).
