There were almost too many musical lives to remember today on Capital Radio, starting with two who died over the weekend, San Francisco rocker Country Joe McDonald and Tex-Mex organ whiz Augie Meyers.

Then there was a segment on the work of Neil Sedaka, who died last month, and tributes to bluesman John Hammond Jr. Gary Walker of the Walker Brothers, guitar whiz Travis Wammack and disco eccentric Monti Rock III. Two producers also passed so we heard work produced by Mike Vernon and engineered by Bob Power.

And who was born on March 9? Ornette Coleman, Lloyd Price and Keely Smith. Mark Lindsay was turning 84, Robin Trower 81; Jeffrey Osborne 78. We closed with the work of John Cale, turning 84, with both his work and a handful of the key tracks he produced.
