madMen1Here’s another reason to long for the spring: the sixth season of “Mad Men” returns to AMC April 7 with a two hour episode directed by creator Matthew Weiner.

There’s no information on what might happen (nor would you probably want to hear it). But the publicity photos released in conjunction with the announcement Wednesday will leave us guessing all kinds of things. For one thing, Wife No. 2 Megan, as played by former model Jessica Pare, is still around (though whether she’s entertaining the office partners with French pop songs is not known). Remember at the start of season five we didn’t even know if the impulsive engagement to the secretary would stick?

madmen2Betty is back in the picture, literally, having lost the weight (and fat suit for actress January Jones) that weighed her down the few times she appeared in the start of the last season. What’s alarming of course is how much Sally has grown. The actress who plays her, Kiernan Shipka, is 13.

There were questions whether Elisabeth Moss’ character Peggy would be around since she jumped to another agency and was last seen in a motel far from Manhattan. But here she is in the promo pictures anyway, at the feet of her mentor, Don Draper. After all, “Mad Men” was often sort of seen through her eyes, a newcomer to the office in episode one.

And Don Draper looks just the same. A well-tailored tuxedo will do that for you.
