“America’s Got Talent” viewers are suckers for a strong voice, with vocalists winning most seasons of the summer talent show.
This year was no exception, as the last singer in the competition, Landau Eugene Murphy Jr., the 37-year-old crooner and former car detailer from Logan, W. Va., with a fondness for Sinatra, took the $1 million prize.
A stint in Vegas was also to be part of the prize, but this year several of the acts will also join him in an all-“Got Talent” showcase, including all of the top four: The young dance group Silhouettes, who finished scond; Team Iluminate, which finished third and the band PopLyfe, as well as some of the other acts from the Top 10 and the winner from last year, who was, does anyone remember his name?

Earlier in the two hour finale, Murphy showed off his style in a duet with Patti LaBelle. The other acts were joined by stars as well, with Stevie Wonder appearing with PopLyfe, Team illuminate with Cobra Starship and Silhouette with Lee Ann Rimes. Tony Bennett, Def Leppard, OneRepublic, Queen Latifah and Jackie Evancho (last year’s runner-up) also performed.
And the loop never ends; auditions for next season of “America’s Got Talent” begin already next month.
I not only remember Michael Grimm’s name, but I recently saw him in concert as the opening act for Stevie Nicks’. He was amazing and had all of Stevie’s fans on their feet!! And he has over 69,000 Facebook fans, so others remember him as well….By the way, I also voted for Landau and hope to see him live in concert too.
