An Emmy for Elmo, Others

Elmo won an Emmy Saturday, as Kevin Clash won best performer in a children’s program for his work on “Sesame Street.”

Also at the Daytime Emmy Awards at the Beverly Hilton — almost certainly the least seen event, as it was run only on HLN on cable — “General Hospital” won five Emmys, including best daytime drama, the “Today” show won best morning show, Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa won a pair of awards as best entertainment talk show; Dr. Oz was best “informative” talk show. “Jeopardy!” was the best game show, and Todd Newton won best game show host for “Family Game Night.”

Heather Tom, pictured, who already won in past years for best younger actress  (for a role on “The Young and the Restless” and supporting actress for her role on “The Bold and the Beautiful,” hit for the cycle by winning best lead actress for that same role, Katie Logan Spencer.
