gandolfiniSunday seems a little bereft of series this week, with so many of them having had their finales. No Sunday night series is missed so much as “The Sopranos” and a sweet coda to that comes in the tribute to its star, who unexpectedly died earlier this year.

“James Gandolfini: Tribute to a Friend” (HBO, 8:30 p.m.) includes remembrances from those who knew him so well on the “Sopranos” set from Edie Falco to David Chase.

England’s Hugh Bonneville not only appears tonight as Lord Grantham on a replay of last season’s “Downton Abbey” on “Masterpiece Classic” (PBS, 9 p.m., check local listings), priming the audience for the new season in two weeks; he also portrays the title character in the Christmas film “Mr. Stink” (PBS, 8 p.m., check local listings) abut a scruffy homeless man befriended by a politician’s daughter. It’s based on a children’s book by David Walliams, a member of the old Little Britain duo. He also appears briefly, as prime minister.

Only a few weeks after NBC got big ratings for a live performance of the same thing, with Carrie Underwood in the main role, here’s the original 1965 version of “The Sound of Music” (ABC, 7 p.m.) with Julie Andrews. Consider it a tribute to Eleanor Parker, who died Dec. 9.

Davis turns 40 on tonight’s “Treme” (HBO, 9:05 p.m.), on five minutes later tonight.

Drunks help turn the night shift upside down on “Getting On” (10: 05 p.m.).

Loads of reruns on network TV, including the odd replay of “NCIS” (CBS, 8:30 p.m.) to fill the space where “The Amazing Race” once was.

“Ja’mie: Private School Girl” (HBO, 10:35 p.m.) may get what’s coming to her in the season finale.

Speaking of bratty girls, “I Am Britney Jean” (E!, 9 p.m.) follows Britney Spears as she gets ready for a two-year gig in Vegas.

It’s New England at Baltimore (NBC, 8:20 p.m.) in Sunday Night Football.

The 1940 romance “The Shop Around the Corner” (TCM, 8 p.m.) was famously remade as “You’ve Got Mail” but also the musical “In the Good Old Summertime” (TCM, 10 p.m.).
