30sectokyo-620x350A weekend long Memorial Day Marathon on Turner Classic Movies is due to the fact that so many war movies have been made. It starts this morning with “Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo” (6 a.m.), pictured above, and continues with flyers during World War II all day with  “Destination Tokyo” (8:30 a.m.), “Air Force” (10:45 a.m.), “Captains of the Clouds” (1 p.m.), “Dive Bomber” (3 p.m.) and “Twelve O’Clock High” (5:30 p.m.).

Tonight, the focus is on Civil War movies, with  “Friendly Persuasion” (8 p.m.), “Glory” (10:30 p.m.), “The Horse Soldiers” (12:45 a.m.), “Westbound” (3 a.m.) and “The Coward” (4:30 a.m.).

Elsewhere, there are “The Green Berets” (AMC, 5:30 p.m.) and “Heartbreak Ridge” (AMC, 8:30 p.m.).

Scott Patterson, Jessica Amlee and Brian McNamara star in the made-for-TV “Kidnapped: The Hannah Anderson Story” (Lifetime, 8 p.m.) based on the abduction of a 16 year old San Diego girl by a family friend who killed her mother and brother before picking her up at cheerleading camp.

Primetime is all sports and reruns, except for the night’s dose of “500 Questions” (ABC, 8 p.m.).

It’s Anaheim at Chicago (NBC, 8 p.m.) in the Stanley Cup Western conference finals, game 4.

And in baseball, it’s Baltimore at Miami (Fox, 7 p.m.). Other games tonight include Texas at Yankees (MLB, 1 p.m.), Milwaukee at Atlanta (Fox Sports 1, 4 p.m.) and San Diego at Los Angeles (MLB, 10 p.m.).

It’s Golden State at Houston (ESPN, 9 p.m.) in game 3 of their Western Conference NBA playoffs.

Last summer’s “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” (HBO, 8 p.m.) makes its cable debut. Eric Bana, Rebecca Hall and Julia Stiles star in “Closed Circuit” (Cinemax, 10 p.m.).

Elizabeth questions her feelings for Jack on the latest episode of “When Calls the Heart” (Hallmark, 8 p.m.).

Felix is desperate for information on Sarah on a new “Orphan Black” (BBC America, 9 p.m.).

Kylie Minogue, Simon Pegg, Michael McIntyre and Brandon Flowers visit “The Graham Norton Show” (BBC America, 10 p.m.).

A West Virginia coal mine fire is among tonight’s “Engineering Disasters” (History, 10 p.m.).

The CIA leaked misleading information to the makers of “Zero Dark Thirty” (FXM, 8 p.m.), a report earlier this week said.

Not sure why there’s parentheses in the title of the true crime “How (Not) to Kill Your Husband” (Investigation Discovery, 10 p.m.). Maybe so they could get it on TV.

The president of Discovery said he’d never again show fake crap like “Mermaids: the Body Found” (Animal Planet, 8 p.m.) and “Mermaids: The New Evidence” (Animal Planet, 10 p.m.), so here it is on Animal Planet.

“First Time Flippers” (DIY, 8 p.m.) is not about young fish, but new real estate speculators.

Animation double feature: “Rio” (ABC Family, 7:30 pm.) and “Kung Fu Panda” (ABC Family, 9:30 p.m.).

“Avatar” (FX, 5:30 p.m.) is three and a half hours for some reason (commercials of course).

The Lumineers and Shovels & Rope play a 2013 episode of “Austin City Limits” (PBS, 11 p.m., check local listings).

A summer of reruns commences for “Saturday Night Live” (NBC, 11:30 p.m.), and they care so little which one it is, they haven’t listed it tonight.
