Sherlock has nothing to do with the new imported Canadian series “Holmes Family Effect” (Fox, 8 p.m.) in which contractor Mike Holmes joins his son and daughter to transform local spaces for the sake of uplift. There are only four episodes; two run tonight.

There are also a pair of episodes to start the third season premiere of “Mayans M.C.” (FX, 10 p.m.), the “Sons of Anarchy” spinoff that involves the choices within a single family.

The made-for-Covid back and forth video calls between Michael Sheen and David Tennant as they prepared for roles in a Pirandello play were amusing enough, but now the second season of “Staged” (Hulu, streaming) shows that all of that was indeed staged and now they’re playing their “real” selves discussing an American remake of the series. Funny stuff for a lockdown. Whoopi Goldberg and Ben Schwartz are recurring characters; Cate Blanchett, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Ewan McGregor also pop up.

Former First Lady Michelle Obama turns kids show host in the new “Waffles + Mochi” (Netflix, streaming), new from the Obama production company. The title characters are puppets who are taught about eating good foods as they travel around the world and meet chefs like José Andrés and Samin Nosrat and celebrities including Jack Black, Rashida Jones, Common, Zach Galifianakis, Mandy Moore and Sia.

A new “Soul of the Nation” (ABC, 10 p.m.) tackles faith.
