Jodie Whittaker returns to portray “Doctor Who” (BBC America, 9 p.m.) for the 13th season start of the popular sci-fi series with, of course, a Halloween-themed episode.

Tom offers to take the jail sentence, if needed, on “Succession” (HBO, 9 p.m.).

Sunday Night Football has Dallas at Minnesota (NBC, 8:20 p.m.). Earlier games include Philadelphia at Detroit (Fox, 1 p.m.), Pittsburgh at Cleveland (CBS, 1 p.m.) and Washington at Denver (Fox, 4:25 p.m.). 

Game 4 of the World Series has Houston at Atlanta (Fox, 8:15 p.m.).

“The Centerville Ghost” (BYUtv, 9 p.m.) is a new ministers based on an Oscar Wilde short story, produced in collaboration with the BBC. James Lance and Anthony Head star.

Larry deals with a malfunctioning toilet on “Curb Your Enthusiasm” (HBO, 10:30 p.m.). 

“The Equalizer” (CBS, 8 p.m.) comes close to getting captured.

Sister Julenne fills in for Sister Hilda on “Call the Midwife” (PBS, 8 p.m., check local listings).
