The format is a strange one — ten 10-minute episodes rolling out one a week. But “State of the Union” (Sundance, 10 p.m.), written by Nick Hornby and directed by Stephen Frears, was a delight in its first season with Chris O’Dowd and Rosamund Pike.

It’s back with the same format — a couple meeting for a drink before going to the marriage counselor — but with a new cast: Brendan Gleeson and Patricia Clarkson. Again it has some well-wrought repartee, but it certainly leaves you wanting more. (All episodes are available streaming on AMC+ and Sundance Now).

Todd Chandler’s documentary “Bulletproof,” which looks at the complexities of gun violence and its grim effects on education, makes its debut on “Independent Lens” (PBS, 10 p.m., check local listings).

“Ali Wong: Don Wrong” (Netflix, streaming) is the latest standup special from the comedian.

From Italy comes the new dramatic series “Devotion, a Story of Love and Desire” (Netflix, streaming), starring Michele Riodino and Lucrezia Guidone as a couple who face consequences of an alleged betrayal.

From Japan comes “Fishbowl Wives” (Netflix, streaming) about a half dozen women who live in a luxury apartment but are unsatisfied with their marriages, based on a manga series.

Primetime Winter Olympics (NBC, 8 p.m.) has freestyle skiing, snowboarding, bobsled and Alpine skiing.
