What began as an offhand filmmakers’ joke — making a trailer for “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” as if it were a gritty drama — caught the eye of Will Smith, who gave the support needed to actually follow through with a series now called just “Bel-Air” (Peacock, streaming). Jabari Banks takes the lead role, with a cast that includes Coco Jones, Adrian Holmes and Olly Sholotan as Carlton.

The one thing that can put a pause on nightly Olympics is the Super Bowl, with Rams vs. Cincinnati (NBC, 6:30 p.m.) and all the associated folderal — in overpriced commercials and a halftime show featuring Eminem, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar and Mary J. Blige. Pregame coverage is probably already on.

On the same day, of course is Puppy Bowl XVIII (Animal Planet, 2 p.m.). But the Kitten Bowl is off for whatever reason.

And after football, there’s some time left for primetime Winter Olympics (NBC, 10:45 p.m.) with figure skating and some bobsled.

The new “My Pack Life” (Discover+, streaming) follows a guy who runs an animal sanctuary in Oregon.

“Around the World in 80 Days” (PBS, 8 p.m., check local listings) travels to the Old West.

Prince tries to get Wendy to settle things down on “Billions” (Showtime, 9 p.m.).

The siblings of “The Righteous Gemstones” (HBO, 10 p.m.) fight for power as Eli’s life hangs in the balance.
