Pamela Adlon adds an extra dash of humanity to the fifth and final season of “Better Things” (FX, 10 p.m.) as she tries to maintain amid the swirl of her life as a mother and a sometimes- actress. In the first pair of episodes that begin the farewell, she finds some genealogy, meets Marty Kroftt at a Whole Foods, ducks a bullets and comes to a realization after a corset fitting. 

The first of a new quartet of specials produced by Dave Chappelle featuring some of his favorite stand-ups, begins with a guy from D.C. in “Chappelle’s Home Team – Earthquake: Legendary” (Netflix, streaming).

Jamie Foxx produces a new show starring the guy who gets him his overpriced cars in the off-putting “Million Dollar Wheels” (Discovery+, streaming).

Elena seems to be a successful writer as the third season of “My Brilliant Friend” (HBO, 10 p.m.) begins, but she has some doubts about her settling down. 

On “The Gilded Age” (HBO, 9 p.m.), the Russells go off to the scene of the train crash that may derail the business. 

“Trayvon Martin: 10 Years Later” (BET, 8 p.m.) recalls the tragedy and judicial travesty from Florida that galvanized a movement.

Returning for a second season is “Cat Hospital” (AcornTV, streaming).

“Murdoch Mysteries” (AcornTV, streaming) has its 15th season episodes available. 

“I Was There” (History, 10 p.m.) is accidentally timely as host Theo Wilson imagines himself back at the disaster at Chernobyl, which is suddenly back in the news.
