In the stylish new series “Irma Vep” (HBO, 9 p.m.), Alicia Vikander plays an in-demand actress in superhero films who goes to France to star in a remake of a silent vampire film. There, she runs into an old flame. It’s Oliver Assayas’ adaptation of his own 1996 film into an eight-episode series.
It’s a good fit with “Gentleman Jack” (HBO, 10 p.m.).
In the new special “Bill Burr Presents: Friends Who Kill” (Netflix, streaming), the comedian presents a number of his friends doing a stand-up set, some of whom are as well known as Michelle Wolf, Jeff Ross, Dave Attell and Ronny Chieng.
