Paid tribute to the rockabilly ace Robert Gordon, who died last week at 75, and who I saw perform in late 2019. Then took note of Jerry Lee Lewis finally being inducted Sunday into the Country Music Hall of Fame Sunday with a handful of his country highlights. I was very excited about the outtakes that come with the release of the “super deluxe” reissue of The Beatles’ “Revolver” coming this Friday.

But most of today’s Capital Radio was divided to one major contingency of next week’s impending Halloween: the vampires. They’re suddenly back on TV again in shows like AMC’s “Interview with the Vampire” and “Let the Right One In” on Showtime. And they’ve been all over music all along, in metaphor if not in blood-sucking literalism. So I played 31 tunes in which they figure, fangs and all, from Roky Erickson and Gorillaz to Frank Zappa and New Order.
