The original “Criminal Minds” ran for 15 seasons and 324 episodes from 2005 to 2020 before calling it an end — for a couple of years. Now it’s back, with a lot of the original cast, appropriately named “Criminal Minds: Evolution” (CBS, 10 p.m.). Mostly, it will run on Paramount+, but will get a showcase on its original broadcast network tonight. Joe Mantegna, A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Aisha Tyler, Adam Rodriguez and Paget Brewster all appear.
It is a holiday, though, so this morning brings The 96th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade (NBC, 9 a.m.). Among the new giant balloons are Bluey, Dino and Baby Dino, Stuart the Minion and Diary of a Wimpy Kid. The Rockets will join the casts of “Funny Girl,” “A Beautiful Noise,” “The Lion King” and “Some Like It Hot” in the pre-parade performances. Lip-synching from the floats will be Paula Abdul, Mariah Carey, Kirk Franklin, Joss Stone, Gloria Estefan, Jimmy Fallon & the Roots, Jordin Sparks, Ziggy Marley, Sean Paul, Betty Who and Fitz and the Tantrums.
After the parade, it’s the National Dog Show (NBC, noon) from the Kennel Club of Philadelphia, hosted by John O’Hurley and Mary Carillo.
The day’s other tradition is football, and NFL action includes Buffalo at Detroit (CBS, 12:30 p.m.), Giants at Dallas (Fox, 4:30 p.m.) and New England at Minnesota (NBC, 8:20 p.m.).
Some people are already thinking of the next holiday, though. “The Noel Diary” (Netflix, streaming) is a Christmas romance starring Justin Hartley as an author who returns home and meets a woman (Barrett Doss). “My Southern Family Christmas” (Hallmark, 8 p.m.) is a family drama with Juicy Elliott, Bruce Campbell, Ryan Rottman and Moira Kelly. “A Christmas Mystery” (HBO Max, streaming) involves involves a theft of jingle bells.
