“Family Dinner” (HBO Max, streaming) returns for a new season with Andrew Zimmern traveling the country to discover historic and cultural background of our food.

They’re running out of time to unroll new holiday films, but there are a couple: “A Miracle Before Christmas” (BET, 6 p.m.) and  “Christmas Party Crashers” (BET, 9 p.m.) with Skye Townsend, Jaime Calico and Cocoa Brown.

“5 More Sleeps ’Til Christmas” (NBC, 8:30 p.m.) is a 2021 animated special based on Jimmy Fallon’s children’s book. Fallon himself volunteers to narrate. It sits among a number of other network holiday reruns of “Mickey Saves Christmas” (ABC, 8 p.m.), “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” (NBC, 8 p.m.) and “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure” (ABC, 8:30 p.m.).

“The Wheel” (NBC, 10 p.m.) ends the first of its two weeks with an episode where Debbie Gibson, Tom Bergeron, Shawn Johnson, Capt. Lee Rosbach, Kyle Pratt and Victor Cruz are on hand to help contestants with their trivia answers.

A widow maker puts Dustin in the path of some rough waters on “Gold Rush” (Discovery, 8 p.m.), which continues on the subsequent “Gold Rush: White Water” (Discovery, 10:11 p.m.).

The network special “Mariah Carey: Merry Christmas to All” (MTV, 8 p.m.) is on cable, a rare musical aberration for a channel long since gone to “Ridiculousness” (MTV, 10 p.m.).

“How Do They Do It?” (Science 9 and 9:30 p.m.) looks at super tiny hearing aids and underwater robots.

A release day wedding is revealed on “Love After Lockup” (WEtv, 9 p.m.).

“We’re Here” (HBO, 10 p.m.) goes to Florida.

The Christmas Marathon continues on Turner Classic Movies with “Bundle of Joy” (6 a.m.), “The Daughter of Rosie O’Grady” (8 a.m.), “On Moonlight Bay” (10 a.m.), “Our Vines Have Tender Grapes” (noon), “All Mine to Give” (2 p.m.), “Penny Serenade” (4 p.m.), “Room for One More” (6:15 p.m.), “Remember the Night” (8 p.m.), “Desk Set” (10 p.m.), “Bell, Book and Candle” (midnight), “Susan Slept Here” (2 a.m.) and “Rocking Horse Winner” (4 a.m.).

Basketball includes Milwaukee at Brooklyn (NBA, 7:30 p.m.) and Memphis at Phoenix (ESPN, 10 p.m.).

In college football, it’s Louisiana vs Houston (ESPN, 3 p.m.) in the Independence Bowl and Wake Forest vs. Missouri (ESPN, 6:30 p.m.) in the Gasparilla Bowl.
