Another Friday, another big box office movie comes early to your streaming service, with Daniel Craig returning as Det. Benoit Blanc in the recent “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” (Netflix, streaming). Set in Greece, the large cast includes Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Kate Hudson, Dave Bautista and Ethan Hawke. And the film represents the final film appearances of Stephen Sondheim and Angela Lansbury, each playing themselves.

Andy Grammar, Mickey Guyton, Little Big Town, David Foster and Kat McPhee perform on the two hour special, “The 24th Annual A Home for the Holidays at the Grove” (CBS, 8 p.m.) which features stories of foster care. Gloria Estefan hosts and also performs.

Trained meteorologists and anchors across the country are encouraged to lie to children in the elaborate pretend reporting of “Tracking Santa — A Hulu / ABC Holiday Special Livestream” (Hulu, midnight) that purports to track the path of Santa and his reindeer live as the night goes on.

Also on tonight, the story of “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King” (PBS, 9 p.m.) told by Alan Cumming with the Tchaikovsky score played by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.

And the birth of Jesus is told from the perspective of Mary and Joseph in “The Chosen: The Messengers” (CW, 8 p.m.).

But there is also “Christmas Terror” (Investigation Discovery, 9 p.m.) and “The Fright Before Christmas” (Travel, 10 p.m.).
