Saturday TV: Molly Shannon Hosts ‘SNL’

An “SNL” cast member from 1995 to 2001, Molly Shannon, gave us characters from Mary Katherine Gallagher to Sally O’Malley and went on to be part of dozens of movies and TV shows, including “The Other Two.” Now, she returns to host a new “Saturday Night Live” (NBC, 11:30 pm.) for season 48, with musical guest the Jonas Brothers, pictured above with cast member Ego Nwodim. The 10 p.m. “SNL” repeat is from 2014 with Chris Pratt and Ariana Grande kicking off season 40.

The latest show using online clips for content is “Totally Weird and Funny” (CW, 8 p.m.) — or at least they hope it is. In it a panel of comedians including Mikalah, Brian Cooper and Noah Matthews, decide which are the best of the week. The series begins with a pair of episodes.

Celebrating the holiday early is the “Gospel Superfest Easter Jam” (BET, 8 p.m.) with Donnie McClurkin, Deitrick Haddon, LeAndria Johnson, J. Moss, 21:03, Ricky Dillard & New G, Demetrius West & JP, Faith Daniels and Isabel Davis. It repeats Sunday at 5 p.m.

“Critter Fixers: Country Vets” (Nat Geo Wild, 9 p.m.), featuring a rural veterinarian clinic south of Atlanta, starts its fifth season.

Also getting back, for his 11th season up in Alaska, “Dr. Oakley, Yukon Vet” (Nat Geo Wild, 10 p.m.).

“Say Yes to the Dress” (TLC, 8 p.m.) looks back at past clients.
