“Yellowstone” (CBS, 10 p.m.) returns for the second half of its fifth season, with a new episode simultaneously on broadcast TV, streaming at its original home, Paramount+ and running on several cable networks: MTV, Paramount, Logo, Comedy Central, CMT, Pop and TV Land, accompanied by an episode of “Lioness” (MTV, etc., 9:10 p.m.). 

Meanwhile, “The Penguin” (HBO, 9 p.m.) winds up his inaugural season as his power struggle with Sofia reaches a head. 

Sunday Night Football has Detroit at Houston (NBC, 8:15 p.m.). Earlier games include Giants vs. Carolina (NFL, 9:30 a.m.) from Germany, Pittsburgh at Washington (CBS, 1 p.m.), Tennessee at Chargers (Fox, 4 p.m.) and Philadelphia at Dallas (CBS, 4:25 p.m.).

New original Christmas movies include “Christmas in Rockwell” (UPtv, 7 p.m.) with Trish Stratus and “’Tis the Season to Be Irish” (Hallmark, 8 p.m.) with Fiona Gubelmann.

“Ice Airport Alaska” (Smithsonian, 9 p.m.) begins a new season with a Christmas snowstorm. 

Sam agrees to go to the doctor for the first time in year on “Somebody Somewhere” (HBO, 10:42 p.m.). 

“Bob’s Burgers” (Fox, 9 p.m.) throws an open mic night. 

The family vacations in Storgos on “Krapopolis” (Fox, 9:30 p.m.). 

“The Real Housewives of Potomac” (Bravo, 8 p.m.) recover from a messy breakfast. 

A koala’s eye is checked on “Wildlife Rescue Australia” (Nat Geo Wild, 9 p.m.).

There’s a Goldie Hawn double feature on Turner Classic Movies with “The Sugarland Express” (8 p.m.) and “Foul Play” (10 p.m.). The silent movie at midnight are “The Dragon Painter” (12:15 a.m.) and “The Tong-Man” (1:30 a.m.). They are followed by two from Jean Renoir, “La Chienne” (2:30 a.m.) and “Boudu Saved from Drowning” (4:15 a.m.).

Men’s college basketball has Michigan vs. Wake Forest (ESPN2, 1 p.m.), Arizona State at Gonzaga (ESPN, 5 p.m.) and Farleigh Dickenson at Creighton (Fox Sports 1, 5 p.m.).
