A new “Frontline” (PBS, 10 p.m., check local listings) reported by Martin Smith reports on China, its relationship with the United States and the rise of XI Jinping. The report, more than a year in the making, comes as a new U.S. administration  is about to face the international complexities. 

The season finale comes for “Dancing With the Stars” (ABC, 8 p.m.) and the finalists aren’t exactly household names: Joey Graziadei, Stephen Nedoroscik, Chandler Kinney, Ilona Maher and Danny Amendola. There may be a lot of slow dancing before it’s all over — the episode lasts three hours.

“Murder in a Small Town” (Fox, 8 p.m.) also has a season finale — its first. 

Christmas movies get a bit twisted when a boy writes to Santa but it mistakenly goes to Satan. Jack Black, in horns, but with a beard, suddenly appears in the live action comedy “Dear Santa” (Showtime, 8 p.m.), from the Farrelly Brothers, the makers of “Dumb & Dumber.” It debuted on Paramount+ Monday.

The emergency department’s mean girls are activated on “St. Denis Medical” (NBC, 8 p.m.). 

“The Voice” (NBC, 9 p.m.) continues its playoffs. 

There’s smoking in the courthouse on “Night Court” (NBC, 8:30 p.m.). 

“Lidia Celebrates America” (PBS, 9 p.m., check local listings) begins a new season of travel and recipes. 

Kyle gets some divorce advice on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” (Bravo, 8 p.m.). 

“The Real Housewives of New York City” (Bravo, 9 p.m.) have some trouble at the pigeon picnic. 

Turner Classic Movies’ month-long salute to actress Ruth Roman concludes with “Five Steps to Danger” (8 p.m.), “Joe MacBeth” (9:30 p.m.), “The Shanghai Story” (11:15 p.m.), “Mara Maru” (1 a.m.) and “Look in Any Window” (3 a.m.). 

During the day are films of director Fred M.
