After being ignored for a few seasons by parent company Paramount, Showtime finally has an offering that brings back memories of the old “Homeland.” “The Agency” (Showtime, 9 p.m.) is produced in party by George Clooney but has a pretty strong cast in front of the camera as well with Michael Fassbender, Jeffrey Wright and Richard Gere with appearances from Dominic West and Hugh Bonneville. It’s a sleek and stylish CIA drama about an agent gone missing in Belarus and another called back to London from Africa who can’t shake the woman he met there (Jodi Turner-Smith). It also shows tonight on Paramount. 

Another new drama tonight is “Earth Abides” (MGM+, 9 p.m.) is about what happens when most the population is wiped out by a virus and there are only a few survivors. The drama, based on the 1949 novel by George R. Stewart, stars Alexander Ludwig, Jessica Frances Dukes and Aaron Tveit. 

The magic duo presents its own holiday special, “Penn & Teller: Merry Fool Us” (CW, 9 p.m.). 

Sunday Night Football has San Francisco at Buffalo (NBC, 8:20 p.m.). Earlier games include Tennessee at Washington (CBS, 1 p.m.), Rams at New Orleans (Fox, 4 p.m.) and Philadelphia at Baltimore (CBS, 4:25 p.m.).

The ninth “Wonderful World of Disney Holiday Spectacular” (ABC, 8 p.m.) hosted by Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro, features performances from Elton John, John Legend, Ava Max, Auli’i Cravalho, Seth McFarlane and Liz Gillies, Pentatonix, Anika Noni Rose, Carly Pearce and Leslie Odom Jr. Taped at various Disney theme parks, it has Kristen Bell narrate. 

There’s a half dozen more Christmas movies, with “Operation Mistletoe” (CW, 7 p.m.) with Jen Lilley and Nick Bateman; “A Bluegrass Christmas” (UPtv, 7 p.m.) with Shaun Johnston as a musician roped into doing a holiday benefit concert to save a horse sanctuary run by Amanda Jordan.

In “Home Sweet Christmas” (Great American Family, 8 p.m.) Candace Cameron Bure inherits a Washington forest and reconnects with a childhood friend (Cameron Mathison); on “The Christmas Quest” (Hallmark, 8 p.m.) Lacey Chabert is an archaeologist who searches for treasure in Iceland with her ex (Kristoffer Polaha). 

And in “Make or Bake Christmas” (Lifetime, 8 p.m.) Jasmine Aivaliotis plays a woman trying to convince a bakery to sell but meets its owner (Landon Moss). Vivica A. Fox and Jackée Henry also star.

Elsewhere, “Tracker” (CBS, 9 p.m.) looks for a man thought to have died in a car crash months earlier. 

Kate Winslet is profiled on a new “60 Minutes” (CBS, 7:30 p.m.) that’s actually 90 minutes long. 

“The Equalizer” (CBS, 10 p.m.) goes undercover in a prison to seek a woman who disappeared just before a release. 

Stephen A. Smith, Sheila Chamberlain and Curtis Symonds are among those receiving HBCU Honors (BET, 8 p.m.). 

Two of “The Real Housewives of Potomac” (Bravo, 8 p.m.) go to divorce mediation appointments. 

Quad has a birthday party on “Married to Medicine” (Bravo, 9 p.m.). 

“Wildlife Rescue Australia” (Nat Geo Wild, 9 p.m.) deals with a gassy kangaroo. 

Kay makes a bold move on “Yellowstone” (Paramount, 8 p.m.). 

“Holiday Wars” (Food, 9 p.m.) imagines a night out for Mrs. Claus. 

A Big Island family is threatened by storms and pests on “Homestead Rescue” (Discovery, 8 p.m.). 

“Ice Airport Alaska” (Smithsonian, 8 p.m.) tries to prevent avalanche destruction. 

Valya worries about the Sisterhood vow on “Dune: Prophecy” (HBO, 9 p.m.). 

Sundays this month, Turner Classic Movies pairs memorable skits from “The Carol Burnett” with the Hollywood films that inspired them. Tonight, that means a night full of “Gone with the Wind” (8 p.m.). The silent movie at midnight is the early “race” film “The Scar of Shame” (12:30 a.m.). Then comes two Italian imports, “The Great Beauty” (2:15 a.m.) and “Le notti bianche: White Nights” (4:45 a.m.).

Men’s college basketball includes Middle Tennessee at UAB (ESPN2, 4 p.m.) and South Carolina State at Xavier (Fox Sports 1, 4:30 p.m.). 

Women’s games include Creighton at Tulsa (ESPN2, 2 p.m.).

The Qatar Grand Prix (ESPN2, 11 a.m.) is run.

Professional lacrosse has Philadelphia at San Diego (ESPN2, 6 p.m.).

Alpine ski racers compete for the Killington Cup (NBC, 12:30 p.m.).
