There’s been a fox hanging around the block lately, and delighting us city folk, so I thought of some songs that had to do with foxes (some of them nominally) and came up with 20.
Today’s Capital Radio began by paying tribute to a quartet of R&B figures who recently passed, Dexter Wansel, Ronald LaPread of the Commodores, Peabo Bryson and Foster Sylvers, the Michael Jackson of his particular family band.
And there were birthdays to celebrate: Nancy Sinatra turned 86, Boz Scaggs, 82; Annie Haslam of Renaissance, 79; and Mick Hucknall of Simply Red, 66. Also: Clarence “Fuzzy” Haskins of Parliament-Funkadelic, born this day in 1941, and bluegrass guitar ace Tony Rice, in 1951.
We closed with a handful of songs sort of about the approaching World Cup.
