The droll and influential documentarian Ross McElwee, whose 1985 classic “Sherman’s March” was less about Civil War history than it was his own failure at romance, was always one to turn the camera on himself. When he finally got married and had a family he turned his camera on them as well. He reconsiders all of that as he mourns his son in his latest documentary,“Remake.” The film, which win a price at the Venice Film Festival last year, makes its debut on “POV” (PBS, 10 p.m., check local listings).
Monday Night Football returns next Monday. But for now there’s American Tailgate on CBS (CBS, 8 p.m.), a two hour special from Nashville with performances from John Legend, Sheryl Crow, Chase Rice and Gabby Barrett. Plus current and former NFL stars will stop in. Nate Burleson and Melanie Collins host.
A second season comes for “Last Meals” (Netflix, streaming), in which chef Josh Scherer interviews celebrity guests while dining on what they say would be their choice for their final day alive. It joins two related shows, “Mythical Kitchen” (Netflix, streaming), which Scherer also hosts, and the daily “Good Mythical Morning” (Netflix, streaming), with Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal, playing games with celebs and trying experiments. The show will continue to be available on YouTube.
One of TV’s greatest misfires was a 2006 hidden-camera show starring O.J. Simpson in which he’d pull pranks on unsuspecting people and shout, “You’ve been Juiced!” The footage, including a segment where he tried to sell a white Ford Bronco, was seen just once, on pay-per-view, and never seen again. Now, the story of the failed show, with some unseen footage, is the basis of a new series “O.J. Unseen: Exploitation of Evil” (Investigation Discovery, 9 p.m.). This gives me a chance to retell my own O.J Simpson story here.
A group of scientists and historians test the blood-soaked swatch from the couch where Hitler shot himself and find, for the first time, “Hitler’s DNA” (History, 9 p.m.) and the genetic traits from manic-depression to schizophrenia that may have led him on his rampage.
“Beat Shazam” (Fox, 8 p.m.) ends its season with a pair of episode, including the show’s 100th episode.
Cassius has to choose between his immediate family and the Bakers on “All American” (CW, 8 p.m.).
“Below Deck Mediterranean” (Bravo, 8 p.m.) welcome a new deckhand.
Merlin is getting a little out of hand on “The Librarians: The Next Chapter” (TNT, 9 p.m.).
“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” (FX, 9 p.m.) goes to the local Renaissance Faire.
Survivalist Hazen Audel travels 500 miles along the Mekong River Basin in the new, six-part “Primal Survivor: Mighty Mekong” (National Geographic, 8 p.m.). The entire thing runs tonight — all the way to 2 a.m.
“The Hooters Murders: Deadly Shift” (Oxygen, 8 p.m.) is a two-hour true crime documentary about a series targeted killings at the restaurant chain from 2001 to 2010.
The disappearance of a second grader in Portland is the focus of “Somebody Knows Something” (Freeform, 10 p.m.)
“Top of the World” (CNN, 8 p.m.) is a news special about the restaurant that used to sit on top of the World Trade Center before 9/11.
Kaitlan Collins hosts “Midterm 2026: Countdown to Election Night” (CNN, 10 p.m.).
