There’s nothing on TV quite like “Legion” (FX, 10 p.m.), the eye-popping, mind-blowing series returning for its second season tonight. A Marvel property skewed by “Fargo” mastermind Noah Hawley, it’s about as close to a superhero series as it is a legal procedural (which is to say: not at all).
Instead, Dan Stevens plays a young man whose schizophrenia may actually be a superpower. And even if the plot doesn’t always immediately track, it’s still an experience to hang on and ride — particularly tonight’s second season premiere, which I will only say includes a huge dance number. And what a cast, with Aubrey Plaza, Rachel Keller, Jermaine Clement and Bill Irwin.
The new Tracy Morgan sitcom that got a sneak preview the other night, about a sprung prisoner, “The Last O.G.” (TBS, 10:30 p.m.), premieres in its regular time slot tonight. Tiffany Haddish as costar is a plus.
There’s a new addition to the little person schedule on TLC, “My Little Life” (TLC, 10 p.m.) about five different little people in different parts of the country. It accompanies the 16th season premiere of “Little People, Big World” (TLC, 9 p.m.).
Also returning tonight for its third season is “Good Bones” (HGTV, 10 p.m.), which, like most offerings on the channel, has nothing to do with what it sounds like.
Anthony Atamanuik’s Donald Trump impersonation is about the best on TV, so its good to have the star of “The President Show” back with “Make America Great-A-Thon: A President Show Special” (Comedy Central, 11 p.m.), even if it pre-empts “The Daily Show” and “The Opposition” for a night. The special also marks the return of Kathy Griffin, all but banned from entertainment following a ill-conceived anti-Trump photo. Now she’s playing Kellyanne Conway.
“Fary is the New Black” (Netflix, streaming) is actually a new stand-up special from the 26-year-old French humorist Fary Lopes.
“The Voice” (NBC, 8 p.m.) continues its knockout rounds.
Robbie has to decide between football and theater on “Rise” (NBC, 9 p.m.).
It’s down to the final four on “America’s Next Top Model” (VH1, 8 p.m.).
“Roseanne” (ABC, 8 p.m.) was something of a ratings bonanza in its return last week. Will everybody come back for week two? In it, tension builds about Darlene’s parenting style.
“LA to Vegas” (Fox, 9 p.m.) may be hijacked to Mexico instead.
The task force makes progress on “Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G.” (USA, 10 p.m.).
Seth handles a case that involves people from his home town on “For the People” (ABC, 10 p.m.).
On “NCIS” (CBS 8 p.m.), Gibbs gets protective custody of a 10-year-old refugee.
Brick has been making out at school on “The Middle” (ABC, 8:30 p.m.).
Officials guess at the identity of “Black Lightning” (The CW, 9 p.m.).
On “Black-ish” (ABC, 9 p.m.), Junior is accepted to Howard and Stanford.
But on the season two finale of “The Mick” (Fox, 9:30 p.m.), Sabrina is having second thoughts about Yale.
“Summer House” (Bravo, 10 p.m.) has its reunion show.
Martin tries to improve his parenting skills on “Splitting Up Together” (ABC, 9:30 p.m.).
A baby is abducted on “Chicago Med” (NBC, 10 p.m.).
“NCIS: New Orleans” (CBS, 10 p.m.) goes undercover at a poker game.
Something bad happens on “The Curse of Civil War Gold” (History, 10 p.m.).
Students take matters into their own hands on season two finale of “The Quad” (BET, 10 p.m.).
Couples head to Sedona on “Love at First Flight” (Lifetime, 10 p.m.).
On the recently recorded “Live from the TCM Classic Film Festival: Michael Douglas” (TCM, 8 and 11:30 p.m.) the actor speaks about his career, amid a couple of films in which he starred, “The China Syndrome” (TCM, 9:15 p.m.) and “Romancing the Stone” (TCM, 12:45 a.m.).
“Bull” (CBS, 9 p.m.) represents a man arrested for changing his identity.
Baseball includes Kansas City at Detroit (MLB, 1 p.m.), Seattle at San Francisco (MLB, 4:30 p.m.) and Cleveland at Angels (ESPN, 10 p.m.).
NBA action has Golden State at Oklahoma City (TNT, 8 p.m.) and San Antonio at Clippers (TNT, 10:30 p.m.).
But then there are also the NBA’s G League playoffs: Erie at Fort Wayne (ESPNU, 7 p.m.) and South Bay at Reno (ESPNU, 9 p.m.).
Hockey has Boston at Tampa Bay (NBC Sports, 7:30 p.m.).
