Jason Bateman returns to host the first new “Saturday Night Live” (NBC, 11:30 p.m.) in a month; Morgan Wallen, the country star who was yanked earlier in the season for not sufficiently quarantining, has apparently learned his lesson and returns. At 10 p.m., is a show from 2015 with Chris Hemsworth and Chance the Rapper.
Earlier, Sharon Van Etten and Lucy Dacus play a new “Austin City Limits” (PBS, 11 p.m., check local listings).
“Live PD” appears to have been defunded, but at least now there’s a “Baby Chimp Rescue” (BBC America, 8 p.m.).
All six living vice presidents are interviewed for a new documentary “President in Waiting” (CNN, 9 p.m.).
The romance “The Photograph” (HBO, 8 p.m.), with Issa Rae and Lakeith Stanfield, makes its premium cable debut, as does the horror film “The Turning” (Showtime, 9 p.m.) with Finn Wolfhard and Mackenzie Davis.
In “A Christmas Surprise” (BET, 8 p.m.), a college woman gets engaged during the holidays. Wendy Raquel Robinson, Keesha Sharp and Will Blagrove star.
Another holiday wedding is planned in a second movie, “Christmas in Evergreen: Bells are Ringing” (Hallmark, 8 p.m.). The fourth film in the network’s “Christmas in Evergreen” series stars Holly Robinson Peete, Colin Lawrence and Rukiya Bernard.
