Fox has ordered five new comedies, four new dramas, a pint-sized version of one of its reality shows and a couple of “event series” for next summer, one of which will return Jack Bauer and “24” for the first time in four years.

“24: Live Another Day” will be a 12 episode series in summer 2014 reuniting star Keifer Sutherland with the producers of “24” for a return that will mostly follow the real-time conceit of the original series (except it will skip half the hours, perhaps allowing meals and catnaps for the CTU agent for the first time).

The “24” announcement dominated the upfront announcements of Fox Monday which will otherwise include Seth MacFarlane’s first live-action comedy series, an Andy Samberg cop comedy from the maker of “Parks and Recreation”; a remake of the Icobod Crane tale and a futureistic action drama from J.J. Abrams.

Half the series premiere in the fall, in and around postseason baseball, always a tricky time for Fox.
