conan_obrien_twitter_605Conan O’Brien returns to host the 99th White House Correspondents Dinner (CSPAN, CNN, 8 p.m.), the big surreal event mixing Washington types with guests from Hollywood.

It’s the most entertaining night of the year for CSPAN, and finally CNN gets wise to the appeal and runs it live as well for the first time. But they don’t do what CSPAN does, spend the time running up to the event playing highlights from past years (starting at about 3 p.m.). It’s fun, too, to watch the red carpet arrivals, sans commentary, on CSPAN starting about 6:15 p.m. The speeches are expected to start some time after 9.

Boston can’t catch a break. Tonight’s B-movie disaster movie “Stonados” (Syfy, 9 p.m.) involves a weather system that rains boulders on the city.

Brooke Burns stars as a woman who charms her way into a restauranteur’s life and work in the new TV movie “A Sister’s Revenge” (Lifetime, 8 p.m.).

There’s no big movie on HBO tonght; instead some prime time Boxing (HBO, 8:30 p.m.) with Sergio Martinez vs. Martin Murray from Buenos Aires. But there are premieres elsewhere, with last year’s “The Amazing Spider-Man” (Starz, 9 p.m.)  and “The Watch” (Cinemax, 10 p.m.), starring Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughan and Jonah Hill.

To help promote next weekend’s pay per view next month against Robert Guerrero on Showtime, sister network CBS gets replays the documentary “Mayweather” (CBS, 8 p.m.). And there’s more Boxing (Showtime, 9 p.m.) with Danny Garcia vs. Zab Judah in Brooklyn.

There’s prime time NASCAR with the Sprint Cup in Richmond (Fox, 7 p.m.).

On a new “Doctor Who” (BBC America, 8 p.m.), the TARDIS crashes.

Kathie Lee Gifford pops up on a new “Smash” (NBC, 9 p.m.).

Michelle gives birth on the third season finale of “My Big Redneck Vacation” (CMT, 9 p.m.).

Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Gillian Jacobs, Paul Scher and Rob Huebel are featured on a new “Nerdist” (BBC America, 10 p.m.).

Loads of family films on tonight including “Yogi Bear” (ABC Family, 7:25 p.m.), “Over the Hedge” (ABC, 9 p.m.) and “The Lion King” (ABC Family, 9 p.m.).

A couple of big movies about Texas, “Giant” (8 p.m.) and “Rio Bravo” (11:45 p.m.) precede a couple of late horror flicks “The Manitou” (2:15 a.m.) and “The Devil Within Her” (4 a.m.).

NBA playoff action includes Brooklyn at Chicago (TNT, 2 p.m.), Clippers at Memphis (TNT, 4:30 p.m.), Indiana at Atlanta (ESPN, 7 p.m.) and Oklahoma City at Houston (ESPN, 9:30 p.m.).

Hockey action includes New Jersey at New York (NBC, 3 p.m.), Montreal at Toronto (NHL, 7 p.m.), Detroit at Dallas (NBC Sports, 7 p.m.) and San Jose at Los Angeles (NBC Sports, 10:30 p.m.).

Hey, it’s still going on: The NFL Draft (ESPN, noon; ESPN2, 7 p.m.).

Coldplay performs on a rerun of “Austin City Limits” (PBS, 9 p.m., check local listings).

The excellent recent Justin Timberlake-hosted episode of “Saturday Night Live” (NBC, 11:30 p.m.) is repeated. Earlier, its the episode hosted by Anne Hathaway with Rihanna at 10 p.m.
