patinamiller“Live from Lincoln Center” (PBS, 9 p.m., check local listings) kicks off its 39th season with a performance by Broadway star Patina Miller, who told reporters at the winter press tour in Pasadena in January that she’ll do more than show tunes.

“A lot of people think that they know Patina Miller as the artist,” Miller said. “They’ve seen me in ‘Sister Act.’ They’ve seen me in ‘Pippin.’ But there are a lot of different layers to who I am as an artist, and I’ve been influenced by a lot of music, a lot of people.

“This is basically about my start, this little nine year old girl with a dream,” she went on, “and it’s going to be inspired by some of my favorite music, Broadway, R&B, gospel, jazz. I have many influences that I get to showcase in one night.”

The remainder of the March Madness Sweet 16 match-ups play out tonight with Tennessee vs. Michigan (CBS, 7:15 p.m.), Connecticut vs. Iowa State (TBS, 7:27 p.m.), Kentucky vs. Louisville (CBS, 9:45 p.m.) and Michigan State vs. Virginia (TBS, 9:57 p.m.).

Jimmy Carter will certainly be the first President to ever join “Real Time with Bill Maher” (HBO, 10 p.m.) that also features, W. Kamau Bell, former Rep. Rick Lazio, Neera Tanden and Josh Gad.

“Vice” (HBO, 11 p.m.) examines the rise of scrap metal scavaging and looks at the real cost of America’s drone war.

Verne Troyer and Nyima Funk are guests on new episodes of “Whose Line Is It Anyway” (The CW, 8 p.m.).

The 2008 of a college professor is examined on “Dateline” (NBC, 8 p.m.).

Eddie Izzard guest stars on a new episode of “Hannibal’ (NBC, 10 p.m.).

The “Game of Stones” (Discovery, 10 p.m.) crew gets stranded in Transylvania.

It may be your last night to watch the comedy “Enlisted” (Fox, 9 p.m.). It will be replaced with the return of “Kitchen Nightmares” after next week’s hour-long series finale of “Raising Hope” (Fox, 9:30 p.m.). Fox says the comedy will be back, but isn’t saying when.

Probably have the NRA to blame for the return of “Sons of Guns” (Discovery, 9 p.m.) for its fifth season.

Turner Classic Movies’ month-long Friday night showcase of food in the movies ends with “Babette’s Feast” (8 p.m.), “Big Night” (10 p.m.) and “Soylent Green” (midnight). In the latter, the food is (spoiler alert) people. Which I guess is why it leads to the original “Night of the Living Dead” (TCM, 1:45 a.m.), followed by “What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?” (TCM, 3:30 a.m.).
