With Thanksgiving done, the floodgates open for Christmas fare.

Among the new offerings today are “Dance Dreams: Hot Chocolate Nutcracker” (Netflix, streaming) is a documentary from Shonda Rhimes’ Shondaland production company that chronicles Debbie Allen’s preparations for her annual “Hot Chocolate Nutcracker.”

The six-episode German import “Over Christmas” (Netflix, streaming) stars Luke Mockridge as a young man with a struggling music carer who returns home for the holidays to find his brother is dating his ex-girlfriend. He doesn’t take it well.

Being honest about its approach is “Jeff Dunham’s Completely Unrehearsed Last-Minute Pandemic Holiday Special” (Comedy Central, 8 p.m.).

Networks begin their run of dueling Christmas specials that date back half a century, with “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town” (ABC, 8 p.m.) opposite the original animated “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” (NBC, 8 p.m.),  and “Frosty the Snowman” (CBS, 8 p.m.) with its sequel “Frosty Returns” (CBS, 8:30 p.m.) and “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer” (CW, 9 p.m.).

But there’s a new one with “Illumination Presents Minions Holiday Special” (NBC, 8:30 p.m.) with the Minions characters.

Then there are the endless line of holiday romances from competing cable networks, “Five Star Christmas” (Hallmark, 8 p.m.), about a travel critic vs. a bed and breakfast; and “Dear Christmas” (Lifetime, 8 p.m.) with Melissa Joan Hart as a podcaster.
